PROVING THAT ROMANCE ISN’T JUST THE PROVINCE OF OYSTER-GOBBLING CARNIVORES, LOCAL RESTAURANT PUTS ON AN AMOROUS VEGAN NIGHT TO REMEMBER.
HECTOR’S RESTAURANT AT the Heritage Auckland is putting on a special vegan four-course meal for the most romantic day of the year, Sunday 14 February.
Prepared by the multi-award-winning executive chef Jinu Abraham, the menu includes an amuse bouche of grilled eggplant and corn succotash with crostini, a starter of crispy fried spinach, coconut yoghurt, salsa verde and dates, followed by a palette of potato, mushroom cake, beetroot, avocado wasabi, grilled artichoke and truffle foam.
Dessert is a decadent raw chocolate delice, candied tomato with nuts and coconut hokey pokey cream.
The meal is dairy and animal free, and the price per person is $79, with a glass of wine on arrival and coffee or tea to finish. There is also an omnivorous menu for those of you who are unlucky enough to have meat-eating partners.
Bookings essential: 09-979 7434.
